Bike & Hike: Gerstruben
Bike & Hike: Oberstdorf - Gerstruben (over Hölltobel & Rautweg)
It had been planned for quite some time – a photo tour through the Hölltobel up to the idyllic little village of Gerstruben and back along the Rautweg to Dietersberg. Now the time was right – a befriended family from Augsburg was interested in this tour and we started in Oberstdorf.
With the bikes we followed the Trettach river to Dietersberg. There we were allowed to leave our bikes with the permission of a farm owner … the tour through the Hölltobel up to Gerstruben is quite short, only about 200 m elevation, but therefore very attractive for families with children. And the views into the partly very deep canyon with its waterfalls are impressive and spectacular.
The heritage-protected village of Gerstruben is an idyllic mountain village at the beginning of the Dietersbach Valley and invites you to relax – perfect for a short break.
Then we went back over the Rautweg (with the impressive crossing of the gorge of the Dietersbach) …
We have found lots of beautiful motives for family hiking photos and all of us had fun on this 4-hour tour (including the photo interruptions).
This tour is perfect for alternative types of transport: Travelling by train – Bike & Hike from Oberstdorf station …
